Baan Rim Nam Restaurant

A MUST restaurant to go to on the island! Family owned and operated (generations of cooking in the kitchen) and it is very present in their dishes. Their use of spices is unique and extraordinary delicious. I ate the tiger prawns grilled on the bbq with their special sauces and my taste buds went nuts . Friendly atmosphere, generous and kind owners and a nice view of the fishing boats nearby. Seafood sooo incredibly fresh! I would eat here every day of the week. Note they open at 6 pm and their specialty is seafood not many options without but They also have tasty soups.

BEST food in Thailand hands down. We ate this place twice even though it was a 30 min drive from our hotel. We tried multiple items from the menu, Nd some of the favs were the pineapple shake, and the seafood tom yum. We had an ocean view , and ALL the food you eat is grown there down to the rice! Extra bonus -one of the employees there does private boat tours which was very inexpensive and the best part of our trip. Book Haroon if you also want the private island experience. Very professional, kind, knowledge, safe and SO fun. Go here or you are missing out.

This place really lives up to its reviews. I think the best steamed snapped I’ve ever had. I’m Not a big fish/seafood fan but the taste was incredible with the lime and chilli sauce. Bursting with spicy flavour. Lime and chilli is a normal combo with snapper but these guys take it to a whole new level. Crab curry Similar very delicious and the coconut banana dessert is a must. No alcohol served in this establishment.

We have eaten at many excellent restaurants on the island, but this one is on another level.We came here for the seafood and luckily had a reservation, as the restaurant was fully booked. It’s located near the pier, directly by the sea, with small bamboo huts and a large covered area. While waiting, we enjoyed watching the fishermen at work.The staff were incredibly friendly and funny, adding to the great atmosphere. The seafood couldn’t have been fresher. The platter for two included crab, mantis shrimp, fish, squid, mussels, snails, and vegetable skewers. Everything was absolutely delicious.The mantis shrimp was incredibly tender and delicious, and the Thai sauces complemented everything perfectly.A clear recommendation—this restaurant is a must-visit if you’re on the island.

The best Thai food I have had in Thailand! I wish I could try more of their recipes, the fried seafood appetiser was amazing, so lightly battered and a meal in its own right. The spring rolls and Satay were also excellent! And to finish it off, the banana and coconut in warm coconut milk, wow! What a place and a sea view thrown in

Considering this restaurant’s location on a relatively remote island compared to Phuket, Baan Rim Nam is truly impressive. The food is exceptional—perfectly seasoned, generously portioned, and reasonably priced. Whether you’re planning a family dinner or a work gathering, this spot is a great choice.Despite being there for a Friday dinner, it wasn’t too busy, allowing for a relaxed dining experience. If I ever return to this island, I’d definitely dine here again. They also offer a pick-up and drop-off service for those without transportation, though it’s not complimentary—something to keep in mind when planning your visit.

A fantastic spot by the fishing harbor, offering incredibly fresh seafood with a wide selection to choose from. You can even see the freshly caught fish they have on display. The dishes are beautifully presented, and the waiter is extremely friendly and has a great sense of humor. Highly recommend!
